Primary Healthcare truck Kitale ready for action.
In addition to Hospitainer BV and the foundation, an active initiative called Healthy Villages emerged, starting as a project within Hospitainer in 2018. Healthy Villages aims to improve the lives of underserved rural communities by providing healthcare and good nutrition. The project combines two main pillars: modular healthcare facilities and innovative agricultural practices. These are supported by essential services such as clean water, electricity, and education, with the goal of creating self-sustaining villages that offer long-term health and nutritional benefits, and possibly serve as safe shelters and neutral zones in conflict areas.
After a successful project in Colombia and assessments projects in Indonesia, the initiative moved to Kitale, Kenya, in 2021. With a new team of partners, the scope of work was revisited, leading to active construction of a PHC clinic and a Level 2 facility.

Healthy Villages Kenya is actively collaborating with GrowPact. GrowPact Kenya is an agricultural organization focused on improving farming practices and promoting food security in Kenya. They provide small-scale farmers with training, resources, and access to innovative techniques, such as greenhouses and efficient water use. Their goal is to empower farmers, increase productivity, and promote sustainable agriculture. This, in turn, helps improve yields, living standards, and the economic development of rural communities.
GrowPact conducts outreach with a truck full of seedlings. Since they already have a large following and are well-known, Healthy Villages joins these outreaches to bring healthcare to the villages. To properly support this service, the foundation was contacted. It was a great opportunity to donate our last Nissan PHC-truck! After a lot of paperwork due to complicated import regulations, the truck was finally shipped at the end of 2023. After clearing customs in Kenya, there was still some paperwork to be done, and we recently received the news that everything has been approved.
The truck has its license plate, and very soon, there will be a festive opening of the joint outreaches!
