PHC Clinic Handover in Guinea

We are pleased to share an exciting update on the successful delivery and deployment of the new Primary Health Care (PHC) clinic in Guinea, provided in collaboration with our partners and the inspiring team behind Clinic+O.

Clinic+O is a healthcare social enterprise founded in September 2020 by Nasser Diallo, originally from Guinea and now based between New York and West Africa. He started Clinic+O with a clear mission to expand access to affordable, quality primary care in underserved communities across Guinea, using a hybrid model that combines in-person services with digital technology and community health workers.

Nasser’s leadership and vision have been recognized internationally. He is an alum of the Obama Foundation’s Leaders Africa program (2022), which highlights emerging African leaders driving positive change, and has also been supported as an Echoing Green Global Fellow.
A few years ago, Nasser visited us together with our partner Imres to better understand how we design and deliver high-quality PHC clinics. This visit sparked meaningful conversations, strengthened mutual trust, and laid the foundation for future collaboration. Nasser is a passionate, solutions-oriented leader with deep commitment to improving health outcomes in his home country, he sees opportunities where others see challenges, and he always keeps people at the heart of his work.

Given Clinic+O’s mission to spread access to primary care across Guinea, and the growing demand for a PHC truck that could extend their reach into remote and underserved regions, it was a natural fit,a no-brainer, to partner on this project.
Over several months, Clinic+O also mobilized additional funding, enabling us to co-finance and bring this PHC clinic to fruition together. Our shared commitment ensured that the clinic could be successfully built, equipped, and prepared for deployment in the field.

This past summer, Sanne (on behalf of the Hospitainer Foundation) together with Ardjan and Bart (from Hospitainer) traveled to Guinea to conduct the official handover and training. While there, they not only delivered essential operational instruction for the new PHC clinic but also immersed themselves in local culture and context. This deepened their understanding of what’s possible in Guinea’s healthcare landscape and strengthened relationships with Clinic+O and local stakeholders.

This journey marks only the beginning. With this PHC clinic now operational, we look forward to watching Clinic+O further empower communities, improve health access, and drive sustainable impact across Guinea , working hand-in-hand with local teams to address urgent healthcare needs and build capacity for the future.
