Years ago, Hospitainer and Alpheios connected through mutual contacts. A trip to the Middle East marked the beginning of their close collaboration. Sanne van Heusden, Operational Director of the Hospitainer Foundation and daughter of Hospitainer’s founder Rolof Mulder, still remembers the early phase well. During one of their projects, they discovered that the delivered emergency units were not being cleaned. This was largely due to the fact that the client did not have any cleaning supplies in such a medical setting.
“It was a challenge because, without the right cleaning products, the units couldn’t meet the hygiene standards essential for medical facilities,” Sanne explains. “Thanks to Alpheios’ quick response, we were able to start providing our products, including cleaning kits. We were looking for a partner who could not only supply the right products but also understood how critical cleaning is in a medical setting. Alpheios quickly emerged as the right choice due to their extensive expertise and their ability to provide tailored solutions.”

Hugo den Hengst, who is also responsible for purchasing cleaning kits, emphasizes the importance of this: “Such an additional requirement is not mandatory, but we find it incredibly important.”

A great example of this is their collaboration for Mercy Ships, a Hospitainer client. “We needed a customized cleaning package,” says Sanne. “Mercy Ships operates hospital ships that sail along African ports for surgical procedures. We were tasked with replacing a dockside setup with medical tents and had limited storage space. The challenge was to find suitable cleaning kits for maintenance and service without taking up too much space on site. Thanks to Alpheios, we found a fitting solution.”
