Capacity Building for CMA Ukraine

Helping CMA Ukraine Grow: Hospitainer Foundation’s Support

At the Hospitainer Foundation, we support and empower organizations that make a real difference in tough times. One of our key partnerships is with the Christian Medical Association of Ukraine (CMA). Thanks to support from the Hospitainer Foundation, CMA has become a major force in improving healthcare during the war, bringing hope and care to thousands of people.

The Journey of CMA Ukraine

Five years ago, CMA Ukraine was struggling. Under the new leadership of Rudolf Myhovych, a neurologist-turned-director, they took the challenge to rebuild the organization from scratch. There was no structure, no funding, and many young medical professionals didn’t even know about the possibilities of CMA. They started by building connections and laying the groundwork for growth.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, CMA began hosting online training with the International Christian Medical and Dental Association (ICMDA). These global connections became essential when war broke out. Instead of asking for money, CMA focused on getting medical supplies. In just 2.5 years, they delivered over 1,300 tons of aid worth $150 million. Today, CMA is one of Ukraine’s largest medical organizations, running seven projects with over 200 volunteers.

CMA’s Growth

CMA’s young and motivated team needed support to build the right structures for long-term success. The Hospitainer Foundation stepped in to help. Some of the key improvements we supported:

  • Creating a Board of Directors: Hospitainer helped CMA form its first Board of Directors with members from around the world. This team ensures CMA stays transparent, accountable, and focused on its goals.
  • Improving Organization and Strategy: With expert guidance, CMA streamlined its operations, structured its projects better, and learned to use donor funds more effectively.
  • Building Financial Stability: CMA adopted smarter ways to cover staff and volunteer costs, ensuring they have reserves to keep going even in tough times.

CMA’s Impact on Healthcare in Ukraine

With stronger structures in place, CMA has achieved amazing results:

  • Training Doctors: Over 2,000 doctors have been trained in advanced ultrasound techniques, improving patient care across the country.
  • Mobile Medical Teams: These teams have helped over 6,000 patients in areas recently freed from conflict, providing vital healthcare.
  • Improving Burn Care: CMA is now leading efforts to reform Ukraine’s burn care system, making a huge difference for people in need.

A Partnership Making a Difference

The Hospitainer Foundation’s partnership with CMA Ukraine shows how capacity building can create lasting change. By helping CMA grow, we’ve supported an organization that delivers both immediate relief and long-term healthcare solutions. Together, we’re bringing hope to those who need it most.

We’re proud of CMA’s journey and excited to continue working together to transform healthcare in Ukraine. Thank you for supporting this mission and making progress possible!
